Each recycling classification requires a different set of skills when it comes to dismantling the equipment. The Newtech Recycling supervisor will start the recycling process by allocating a computer disposal classification to a specialized disassembly team. Each member of the disassembly team will start taking the computers assigned for disposal apart, removing the casing, frames, motherboards, hard drives, computer memory, processors, circuitry and cables.

All of the material generated through our dis-mantling process is then properly sorted into bins and staged for shipment. Once a shipment is assembled, the material is sent to refineries to be used as feedstock for new manufacturing. All of our refineries have been inspected by Newtech or a professional auditor. We review our downstream partners and their record of local compliance to insure that the proper disposal and re-use of material is taking place.

The big question is usually “what happens to all the data on the hard drives”. Each hard drive is removed from the computer and then passed through one of our hard drive security paths. The path chosed is pre-determined by our clients or based on previously negotiated program specifications. We take data security very seriously and will guarantee that all confidential information is properly removed. Newtech Recycling operates a strict “confidentiality policy”. These materials are then all recycled.
